Two sisters, one shared idea
Our Casa really exists.
Casa Cafaro really exists. It stands in the Basilicata region of Italy, surrounded by almost untouched nature. The olive trees on the slope have been tended again since 2024, and every autumn the olives are harvested by hand to press a fresh, high-quality olive oil.
Part of the idea of Casa Cafaro was born here: the connection to nature, to plants and to natural products.
As sisters we are connected by our family, our passion for hospitality and our enthusiasm for the power of nature. Together the idea emerged to combine our knowledge of essential oils with our experience in hospitality and to create something of our own.
Today Alessandra carries Casa Cafaro forward.
Over time our professional paths have changed. Today Alessandra carries Casa Cafaro forward and develops the original idea independently.
Her experience in hotels and restaurants in Switzerland and abroad shapes her work to this day. She knows how a business runs, what guests expect, and how much atmosphere and the many small details matter that make a stay special.
At the same time she has spent many years immersed in naturopathy, plants and aromatherapy. Today she is a certified aromatherapist and also passes on her knowledge in training courses.
My connection to nature and aromatherapy
The power of nature and natural medicine have always been part of me. With motherhood this connection has grown even stronger.
My passion is to accompany people in coming back into harmony with themselves and discovering their own inner strength. I find the world of essential oils especially fascinating, both professionally and through my personal experience. I use them not only in my family, but also deliberately in my therapeutic work with my clients.
In hotels I have often felt that exactly this natural aspect is missing. That is why I love to combine my knowledge of aromatherapy with my enthusiasm for hospitality and to create spaces that foster wellbeing, harmony and rest.
Lavender from Bulgaria
In north-eastern Bulgaria, around Dobrich, the Hebar lavender blooms in summer. Here the Esseterre distillery distils the essential oil from the freshly harvested flowers.
Alessandra has visited the fields and the distillery in person. It matters to us to know where our oils come from and how they are made.
